This looks like a good addition to the already existing Firefox plugins. Something similar for Identi.ca would be great, or perhaps even implementing support for the OMB (OpenMicroBlogging) protocol in this addon.

Even after a few days, I still like it. I have one nitpick, though: Everywhere else in Firefox, left-click = open in current tab, middle-click = open in new tab. Also, customizing CSS for those who don't like black backgrounds is a little cumbersome right now.
